What You Can Expect in Essaouira day trip from Marrakech:

Essaouira is situated about 175 km away from Marrakech and its beach is a long ribbon of around 10 km bathed in surf.

Essaouira is a medieval city known for its annual festival of Gnaoua music. The Unesco considers the city to be an heritage site. We enjoy visiting Essaouira’s place Moulay El Hassan, La Skala, also the port and the ramparts.

Don't miss the colourful spectacle of the return of the boats to the port, with their baskets full of fish. Try the grilled sardines or taste a small lobster in the port for lunch meal.

We return to town through the Bab El Marsa gate. We explore the Sqala of the Kasbash, which offers an incomparable view across the medina.

We leave the old European canons and walk towards the casemates. You may visit some of workshops there.

Essaouira has been host to a very popular music festival, which takes place at the start of summer. It promotes Gnaoua music whilst giving a wide opening to world music, jazz and blues.
